It's the Perfect Time of Year....for Soup!

With the weather turning cold it's the perfect time for soup, soup and more soup!
I like to make homemade soup often and stock up my freezer for even colder weather to come.

There are so many reasons why I love soup.
  • First the variety of ingredients and flavours, no two pots of soup need to be the same. So in my opinion its really hard to get sick of soup.
  • Secondly soup is easy to make and you don't need a lot of fancy kitchen equipment. Do you have a knife, cutting board and large pot? You're all set to make a pipping hot pot.
  • And last but definitely not least soup is a great way to include a variety of vegetables and other healthy ingredients like beans and lentils into your diet.
    • If you have never tried beans or lentils soup is a great way to give them a try. They have a mild flavour and are soft so they work with any flavour and kind of soup (chunky or pureed). What is great about them is beans and lentils provide a lot of protein and fibre so they help to make soup a complete and filling meal.
