Label Reading - What To Look For In a Cereal



Today Michele shares what to look for when choosing a healthier breakfast cereal.

Using the ingredient list and the nutrition facts table, choose a cereal that is:
  • made with whole grains - look at the ingredient list for the word "whole" in front of grain like whole grain rolled oats or whole wheat flour. 
  • lower in sugar - choose a cereal with 8 grams or less of sugar per serving
  • higher in fibre - choose a cereal with 2 grams or more of fibre per serving
