Today Michele shares what to look for when choosing a healthier breakfast cereal.
Using the ingredient list and the nutrition facts table, choose a cereal that is:
- made with whole grains - look at the ingredient list for the word "whole" in front of grain like whole grain rolled oats or whole wheat flour.
- lower in sugar - choose a cereal with 8 grams or less of sugar per serving
- higher in fibre - choose a cereal with 2 grams or more of fibre per serving
